May 2007 IMPACT LEADER Abbi Crutchfield

Abbi Crutchfield

Abbi Crutchfield is a writer and stand-up comedian based in New York City. She co-produces a popular stand-up and sketch comedy show in Brooklyn called The Living Room, where she creates characters and often does unexpected impersonations. As eloquent and poised as she is witty, she reaches a wide demographic with her straightforward humor, clean material and sharp delivery. She has been featured in Bust magazine, Radio Free NY, and in several online publications including Until Monday: Brooklyn (www.brooklyn.untilmonday.com). Abbi graduated from Georgetown University with a B.S. in Foreign Service. She followed her passion to write and perform stand-up comedy by moving to New York in 2005. Since then she has become a recognized name in the underground comedy scene, performing at Caroline’s, New York Comedy Club and many other popular venues. In her spare time, she volunteers at Postmark Café, a coffee shop owned and operated by her church. It sponsors uplifting events like The Living Room, co-produced by Abbi and her colleague Luke Thayer, that welcome all members of the community. You can see her perform there on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month, or view her schedule and read her regular postings on her website, www.curlycomedy.blogspot.com.
