Errick D. Simmons

Errick D. Simmons was born on December 12, 1976 in Greenville, Mississippi. He received a degree in Business Administration in Economics in 2000 from Jackson State University. Two years later, Errick received a Masters degree in Economics from Jackson State receiving his Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law in 2005. After graduating from law school, Errick returned to Greenville to use his educational preparation, passion, and dedication to serve Greenville, and the South as a whole.

Errick is partner and co-owner of Simmons & Simmons, PLLC in Greenville. Understanding that the youth are Mississippi’s most valuable natural resource, Errick became a Youth Court Public Defender and Guardian Ad-Litem in Washington County. A testament to his commitment to youth and the law, Errick was recommended for Best Guardian Ad-Litem in the State of Mississippi and was recently appointed by Governor Haley Barbour to serve on the Children’s Justice Act (CJA) Task Force. In addition to his other duties, in January 2008, Errick was elected Councilman for Ward 6 in Greenville. He is the city’s youngest councilman.

As an attorney, businessman, community leader, youth advisor, father, and man of God, Errick continues to forge his place in the hearts of those he serves. Errick sponsors Cooper & Simmons Little League Sluggers, is a youth mentor, and board member of United Way of Washington County. Errick’s professional memberships include the Mississippi Bar Association; Magnolia Bar Association; American Bar Association; and the Greenville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He is also a member of the Greater Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville.
