Albert W. Mundy, or as he is more affectionately known “Cory” is a proud 6th generation Washingtonian. He received his undergraduate degree from Hampton University where he received a B.S. in Marketing. Cory began his banking career with Nations Bank now known as Bank of America. At Bank of America he managed several larger banking centers and was eventually exposed to the mortgage business. After this exposure Cory decided that he would begin his career helping people purchase homes. Cory states, “there is no better feeling than watching a homebuyer get the keys to his or her new property.” After making the shift to originating mortgages, Cory was recruited to work at Residential Loan Corporation. That’s where he increased his knowledge of originating, marketing, servicing, as well as, buying and selling mortgage loans. In May 2006, he received a call from Dwight Bush, the president of Urban Trust Bank. Cory was asked to join a new team of individuals charged with the task of building the mortgage division of this very important bank. Urban Trust Bank was founded by Robert Johnson upon the selling of BET to Viacom. Cory expresses that at Urban Trust Bank, they are focused on helping people realize the dream of homeownership. Cory explains, “we are different here; we are looking to get buyers into homes they can afford not just getting them in and out of our doors with a loan that may be detrimental for them in the future. Cory has made a personal commitment to take the time necessary to guide customers in the direction of homeownership thereby strengthening the community.
